Detox
At SLR, we offer full medical detox for typical patients as well as those with high medical acuity. Our medical staff is on campus 24/7 to provide constant supervision. They’ll evaluate your needs based on your diagnosis and symptoms and will provide the necessary medications to help alleviate any discomforts. You don’t have to go through this alone — let us help you in a safe and comfortable environment.
Serenity Light Recovery offers an unparalleled detox experience

What to Expect
Once you’ve made the life-changing decision to begin treatment, it’s important to know what to expect. As you begin to adapt to functioning without drugs or alcohol, your body can produce withdrawal symptoms.
- Seizures
- Extreme cravings
- Nausea
- Depression or anxiety
- Muscle aches
- Sweating
- Shakiness
- Headaches
- Brain fog
The length of time for withdrawal varies depending on everyone’s experience with addiction. Generally, you’ll experience your first withdrawal symptoms within a few hours after ceasing use of drugs or alcohol. They can get worse over the following two to three days, but after they peak, these symptoms will start to recede, and you’ll start to feel more stable. Some factors that may influence the length of the withdrawal process include:
- How long you’ve used drugs or alcohol
- What type(s) of substance(s) you have been using
- Method of substance consumption (smoking, injecting, snorting,
ingesting) - Amount of use
- Family history and genetics
- Individual mental and medical health
